Drone detection.

A faster view of activity in the radio environment.

We are developing a passive detector to give early warning of radio signals associated with drones, particularly analog FPV video transmissions. Information about a received signal is intended to appear on the main tablet-style display, without a second LCD.

Device and interface concept
The approach

Receive. Assess. Display.

The portable device is designed to monitor radio activity in supported bands and give the operator a clear view in one place.

01

Receive signals

Antennas at the top of the device receive signals in the frequency bands supported by the final configuration.

02

Rapid scan

CSUA's development figure for one scan across the supported bands is up to 200 ms.

03

On-screen overlay

Status and signal information appear directly over the tablet display. The design has no separate status LCD.

One device, one screen

Antennas above. Data in view.

The tablet-style design brings the main view and detection status together. The interface aims to make information easy to read without shifting attention between two displays.

Final performance follows the final build.

The up-to-200-ms figure is a CSUA development figure for one scan cycle across supported bands. The final frequency coverage, assessment method, detection range, availability and other characteristics will be confirmed in the technical specification. Passive RF detection depends on a compatible transmitted signal and local conditions.
